Description:

Hedda, fresh from her honeymoon, is already disappointed in her husband Jörgen and is looking for stimulation. Then along comes Jörgen's rival, Eilert. In fact, he was Hedda's former lover, but is now bonding with her new lover, Thea. Jealous of Thea's relationship with Eilert, Hedda devises a plot... This ballet is based on Ibsen's play "Hedda Gerberl". Like "The Ghost," this production, directed by Marlit Moeum Aune, was critically acclaimed in Norway and internationally when it premiered in 2017. The story of Hedda, a haughty woman, is depicted with a simple set and modern music. The eight dancers are all excellent, but Niebakken's tour de force performance as Hedda is the most captivating of all. Naxos Japan
