Description:
A collection of works by Serbian composer and conductor Mihailovic. Born in Belgrade to a well-known musical family, Mihailović studied composition and conducting at the local music academy, then attended master courses in Cologne and Salzburg, where he continued his studies. from 1987 to 2002 he served as president of the Serbian Composers Union, contributing to the development of music in Serbia. Perhaps influenced by his father and uncle, who led a popular light music ensemble, many of his works have a classical style and easy listening melodies, reminiscent of Gretzky, Kancheli, Pärt, and Rautavaara. However, he also adopts an avant-garde style in some of his compositions, showing his versatility. In "Bagatelle," the harpsichord provides a stimulating interlude to the sung violin, and in "Fa-mi(ly)," the piano's light sound is supported by the heavy strings, creating an exquisite balance. The Frankfurt Brandenburg State Orchestra, conducted by Griffiths, plays the harpsichord, and the impressive harpsichordist is Berlin-based keyboardist Junko Ikeya (Yoriko Ikeya). Naxos Japan
