This gown is named Ermengarde.
Made of white silk and white silk lace, this gown is original to the 1930s. With a train, puffed sleeves, lace details, and rosettes down the front of its ruched sweetheart bodice and neckline, this dress loudly announces its classic style.
• 29" waist
• 39" bust (taken while garment was flat)
• 17" sleeves (wrist to underarm)
• 11" bodice front
• 14" bodice back
• 55.5" skirt (top of bodice front to floor)
• 77" train (from the waist)
Likely an 8 - 10 US. For best results, please go by the garments measurements.
In good vintage shape. The back lace panel has been replaced, and there are several small holes in the solid silk, as well as the lace paneling.
Note: this dress is very delicate, especially the old lace paneling. I highly recommend that these panels be replaced if you would like to keep the integrity of the gown to sustain over the next 100 years.
No makers marks, and/ or tags, but this gown was definitely expertly constructed some 80 years ago.
