This belt consists of multiple large silver chains joined by five carved and painted pink plastic scarabs. The belt ends with another of the scarab beetles which all measure 1. 5 inches each. The pink and white scarab beetles are captured in silver bezels. The chain between each scarab measures 5 inches. The belt adjusts from 28 to 36 inches. This great belt is from the mid-seventies when King Tut's artifacts were touring the world. Egyptian revival styles and jewelry were all over fashion.

This metal and plastic belt is circa 1975 and made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products.
