Mara Festo Cassell's 1989 Secret Sources! Adam Fischer conducts a "giant"! Adam Fischer, the Hungarian conductor whose Mahler Cycle with the Düsseldorf Philharmonic Orchestra has been highly acclaimed worldwide in recent years, has released a rare recording of Mahler's Symphony No. 1 from the "Gustav Mahler Fest Kassel", a festival he founded during his tenure as general music director of the National Theater Kassel in Germany (1987-1992).
