Description:

Thomas Simak is a composer from Albania. He studied composition at the College of Music, and then began composing while studying the music of Albania and its suburbs. He is known for creating unique works by capturing only the essence of folk songs rather than directly incorporating them into his own compositions. This album contains chamber music works, each with its own unique flavor. Even "My Beautiful Morea," which is a rare example of his work that takes an Albanian folk song in a straightforward manner, has a unique flavor, with its short melody line extended and developed in a richly textured manner.
